Studio One operates across four carefully selected studio spaces throughout the Western Cape: from the northern suburbs of Cape Town to the Winelands. Each venue has been chosen for its space, its light, and its ability to support professional dance training in a comfortable, welcoming environment.

Die Ateljee in Brackenfell is Studio One's founding home, the first venue to host classes and the one that set the template for what a Studio One studio should feel like. Set within The Dione Centre in Springbokpark, the space is defined by exceptional natural light, a high ceiling, and full-length mirrors running the length of the barre wall. It is the kind of room that makes a dancer want to move.

The Brackenfell programme runs across most of the week and covers all age groups and disciplines, from Budding Ballet (2–3 years) through to the high school age group (Senior Programme) and Adult Classes. It is one of the most complete offerings of any Studio One venue.

The adult programme deserves a particular mention. Our Monday and Wednesday evening adult classes have become one of the studio's fastest-growing sessions - drawing in a mixed crowd of beginners, returning dancers, and people simply looking for a more interesting way to move than the treadmill allows. No experience is required, and no two sessions feel the same.

Studio One's Durbanville home is found at OHM Studio in the quiet neighbourhood of D'urbanvale, a dedicated dance and wellness space that brings a considered, calm energy to every session. The studio is spacious, professionally equipped, and hosts one of Studio One's most comprehensive timetables.
With most disciplines on the schedule across the week, Durbanville serves students from the full Northern Suburbs corridor, from Bellville and Kraaifontein through to Durbanville itself. For families looking for a studio that combines easy access with a complete programme, this is it.

Adult classes are also offered at this location, and have quickly established themselves as a community favourite. Whether you're here for your child's ballet lesson or your own Wednesday evening contemporary class, Durbanville has a place for you.

Val de Vie Boulevard, Paarl
Hosted within one of the most celebrated residential estates in the Cape Winelands, Studio One's Val de Vie studio brings professional dance training to the heart of Paarl. The Yard Centre is a purpose-built wellness and fitness facility within Val de Vie Estate. A setting that, quite simply, has no equal among Studio One's venues.

Classes here draw students from the Pearl Valley Estate, and Val de Vie itself, as well as the local schools (Bridge House and La Rochelle in particular), and from the broader Paarl, Wellington, and Franschhoek communities. The programme includes most dance styles presented by Studio One, ballet, contemporary, acro, and hip-hop, across weekday classes for pre-school ages all the way up to adult classes. The classes maintain the same Studio One syllabus and standards you'd find anywhere in our network.

La Bri Farm, Robertsvlei Rd, Franschhoek
There are not many dance studios in the world that sit among working wine farms in one of South Africa's most celebrated valleys. Studio One's Franschhoek home at La Bri Farm is exactly that, a genuinely unique setting that makes every class feel a little special before it's even begun.
La Bri is Studio One's Winelands outpost, and it brings the same standard of training found across all four studios to the Franschhoek community. The Studio One programmes catering to 2 year olds, through pre-school, primary school and teenagers, all have classes offered. Directly accessible to dancers in Franschhoek, La Motte, Wemmershoek, and Robertsvlei, the studio has grown steadily since launching, a testament to just how much the valley has embraced it.

If you live or work in Franschhoek, Villiersdorp, or surrounds, this is your closest Studio One location, and arguably the most beautiful place to dance in the Western Cape.

Can I switch between studios?
Yes. Studio One students are enrolled in the programme, not a specific venue. If your schedule changes or you'd like to attend a class at a different location on a given week, speak to us and we'll make it work.
Is there parking at each studio?

Yes, parking is available at all four locations. On registration confirm specific venue parking details prior to a first class. Most studios are in areas in proximity to coffee shops and other stores. Note that Val de Vie operates within a gated estate, which may affect first-time visitor access.
Do all studios offer the same classes?
​
The same curriculum and syllabus is taught across all four locations, but not every discipline or age group runs at every venue. The comparison table above shows a summary. For a complete picture of what's available where, view the full timetable or contact us directly.
How do I access Val de Vie Estate for a class?
Val de Vie is a private estate. Students and prospective students attending a class at The Yard Centre should contact us for entrance clearance.
Is there a free trial at every studio?​
I live in Franschhoek — is La Bri suitable for young children?
Yes. The Studio One La Bri location is one of our most popular venues for the youngest dancers in our programmes.
Yes. Every Studio One location offers a free trial class for new students. No experience is necessary and there is no obligation. Simply select your closest studio and book your trial online.
What should my child wear to a first class?
Comfortable, form-fitting clothing is ideal: leggings and a fitted top are perfect. For ballet specifically, we recommend a leotard and ballet shoes where possible, but these are not required for a first trial class. Our store stocks everything you'll need once your child is enrolled.
